Tanzania

Intimate safaris in a legendary land, home to the Great Migration.

OVERVIEW

WHERE EVERY JOURNEY REVEALS A DIFFERENT STORY

It’s peaceful on the savannah, but the quiet munching of wildebeest reminds you that you’re not alone here in the Serengeti. A lioness waits, almost invisible in the long grass. Suddenly, an alarm call sounds and the ground begins to tremble beneath a thousand pounding hooves. In an instant, the chase is on.

It’s a privilege to see the Great Migration in action, yet we’ll show you that Tanzania’s magic reaches far beyond these famous plains. From the raw wilderness of Ruaha and Katavi to Kilimanjaro’s dramatic slopes and Zanzibar’s hidden beaches, we know all the best places. With first-hand knowledge, we design journeys that reveal a more intimate connection to this remarkable land.

BEST TIME TO VISIT TANZANIA

June – October (Long Dry Season)

Peak safari season with superb wildlife viewing as animals gather at watering holes. Great Migration river crossings unfold in the Serengeti. Zanzibar and Kilimanjaro are warm and dry. Best for: first-timers, migration seekers, trekkers, beach lovers.

November – December (Short Rains)

Brief afternoon showers turn landscapes green, providing a haven for migratory birds and the Southern Serengeti’s newborn wildebeest calves. Parks are quieter, and rates are lower. Best for: birders, repeat visitors, value-driven travellers.

January – February (Short Dry Season)

Warm and dry with good animal viewing and breeding plumage in resident birds. Wildebeest calves carpet the Southern Serengeti, attracting abundant predators. Sunny and clear for hiking Kilimanjaro. Best for: families, couples, birders, trekkers.

March – May (Long Rains)

The wettest months make game viewing challenging with lush vegetation and muddy trails. Camps that remain open offer great value for money and a sense of exclusivity. Best for: budget-conscious travellers, solitude seekers.
